The document camera has worked amazingly for reading and literacy, allowing students to clearly see books, passages, examples, and learning activities during whole group instruction. Our class grew to 30 students, making organization and classroom management even more important. While the iPad stands did not work well for our classroom setup, we found a better solution by replacing them with seat pockets. The seat pockets have been incredibly helpful for storing and organizing materials, keeping student spaces more manageable and making frequently used items easier to access. Most of my students are verbal and I do have a few exceptions that struggle with their speech, so being able to have the photos printed from their small digital cameras that we use for science shows me their point of view. I enjoy seeing how excited they are to show me the pictures they have taken and then being able to write about them in their science or writing journal. Being able to show us what they see helps them express themselves better. My students also feel accomplished sense of accomplishment when we are able to celebrate their achievements and send home pictures to show the amazing work they have done. \r\n\r\nMy students are also practicing sequencing with the pictures that they take. We recently began our garden and we have started planting seedlings in our classroom to get ready with small plants for the fall.
