While the school library is a great place for finding books, my classroom library is a safe place for them to explore, communicate with other dyslexic peers about books, and read together. Because of your support, my students have books they can \"check out\" from my library to read at home, since many of my students don't have the luxury of a reading-rich environment. \r\n\r\nMy students have been delighted by the books chosen because they are high-interest, are relevant to current times, and are varied in genre. There's a book for everyone! They love getting together in my library area, picking a book to start, or finding their bookmark in a book they've begun. They sit together, read together or independently, and share moments in the stories they enjoy. They have infinite opportunities to use strategies they're learning in decoding to apply in enjoyment reading, which is the goal of dyslexia therapy: Providing them with the tools to read skillfully and independently.
