In Oregon, our winters are long and wet. Our school recently partnered with Portland Parks and Recreation to plant a variety of NW Native trees on our site. This created immense opportunities for outdoor learning. With our waterproof rain suits, we are able to incorporate these lessons year round. We have plans to create an outdoor garden as well, and now will be able to cultivate in it every season.\r\n\r\nGoing outside each day, breathing fresh air and connecting with nature also has had a great impact on student's regulatory systems.
