Thanks to your generous donations, that goal has truly come to life. our students are thriving in a warm, welcoming space that supports both learning and independence. \r\n\r\nSince the new materials arrived, I have noticed a wonderful sense of ownership and pride among my students. They are taking care of our classroom by putting materials away properly and making sure everything is organized and ready for the next day. Many students eagerly volunteer for classroom jobs, especially the sweeper, so that our beautiful new rug stays clean and remains a space they love to gather, learn, and grow.\r\n\r\nThank you to Ripple and donors like you for making such a meaningful difference. These resources have truly made a meaningful impact in our classroom. \r\n\r\nSince adding these magazines, I have seen some of my most reluctant readers become excited and eager to read. Students look forward to each new edition, and now many of those reluctant readers volunteer to read aloud during whole class shared reading- something that was not happening before. \r\n\r\nSuperSTEM magazine has also encouraged students to go beyond the text and deepen their curiosity about the world around them. From finding other resources to learn more to trying ideas out themselves. For example, the issue in November featured an article explaining how and why carved pumpkins rot quickly, along with some ideas on how to extend the life of a carved pumpkin. This short article sparked a long-term classroom experiment where students observed pumpkins over time, making predictions, and recording changes. One pumpkin is still being observed as we explore the possibility of witnessing the full life cycle of a pumpkin. \r\n\r\nThe gift of these magazines have strengthened literacy skills while fostering inquiry, critical thinking, and hands-on learning in STEAM. I wish I had recorded their reaction to coming into the classroom that morning and saw the new rug. They were ecstatic. I expected them to be happy, but they were much more than that. At their young age, they were able to appreciate the magnitude of this new addition to their classroom. Not only did it brighten their spirits, but it also brightened the entire room. I didn't realize how old and drab the old rug was until I brought the new one in. It completely changed the mood and feeling of the classroom. My students have been absolutely thrilled with the new materials! With the Velcro, laminating sheets, and books, I've been able to adapt the books to better meet my students' needs. Adapting them means adding visual supports to help students answer comprehension questions throughout stories, as well as making the materials more accessible for my nonspeaking students.\r\nOne of our favorite routines is identifying our feelings using the emotion tokens. The students have truly thrived with this activity. Many of them now independently ask each other how they're feeling without prompting, which has been such a rewarding moment to witness.\r\nI've also incorporated other materials, such as the emotion flip-book, busy scene cards, and sequencing sets, into my evaluations and therapy sessions. These tools allow me to look beyond standardized assessments and create lessons that are functional, engaging, and meaningful for my students.\r\nAs a first-year Speech-Language Pathologist, I am deeply grateful for your support.
