They immediately wanted to dig into the sand, explore the new books, and try out the magnetic letters. For many of my students, hands-on tools like playdough, kinetic sand, and weighted lap pads are not just fun; they are essential for regulation, focus, and learning in our classroom. Having these resources available has made our room calmer, more engaging, and better equipped for all types of learners.\r\n\r\nOne of the most powerful moments was during rotation time. My students were able to use the playdough and sentence-building cards to create words and sentences. Seeing their pride as they showed me what they had built showed me just how much these resources are helping them connect learning in a meaningful way. The weighted lap pad and sensory sand have also given students tools to calm their bodies when they feel overwhelmed, allowing them to return to their learning more quickly.\r\n\r\nThe next step for our class is to keep using these tools to strengthen literacy, fine motor, and social-emotional skills. With the support of donors like you, my students now have access to resources that meet their unique needs and help them thrive. Thank you for investing in my K–2 self-contained classroom, you have made a lasting difference in their learning and daily school experience.","fullyFundedDate":1751907124572,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-tools-and-literacy-boosters-for/9390553/","projectTitle":"Sensory Tools and Literacy Boosters for Focused Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chase","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10048287_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751571574436","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10048287"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_40642","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":351,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":37,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":37,"percentIndigenous":4,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"12.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":77.3,"schoolId":40642,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rover Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rover Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/tempe-elementary-school-district-3/rover-elementary-school/40642"}
