They were able to use their creative skills to analyze literature in a way that did not require them to write another essay.\r\n\r\nThe healthy snacks were particularly helpful for me, as I spent hundreds of dollars every year feeding students that are food insecure. With over 250 students across our classes, we were in urgent need of supplies to ensure that every student had what they needed to be successful. Your support came at exactly the right time and helped fill a major gap. Because of your generosity, all of our students now have access to essential materials and are able to stay organized, focused, and prepared each day.\r\n\r\nThe supplies have allowed us to build stronger classroom routines and focus more intentionally on skill development. Students are better able to take notes, complete assignments, and keep track of their work. This has supported key academic skills such as organization, accountability, and independent learning. For many of my students, simply having consistent access to basic materials has removed barriers that previously made it difficult for them to fully participate.\r\n\r\nReading and learning in our classroom are now much more structured and engaging. Students come prepared with the supplies they need, which allows us to spend more time on instruction, discussion, and meaningful activities rather than addressing missing materials. Whether they are working independently, in small groups, or as a whole class, students are more focused and able to stay on task.\r\n\r\nI have also seen a noticeable difference in student confidence. Some students who would previously hesitate to participate due to not having the necessary supplies are now more willing to engage in class activities, complete their work, and contribute to discussions. Having their own materials has given them a sense of responsibility and pride in their work.\r\n\r\nOverall, these supplies have made a bigger difference than I can fully express. In a classroom serving over 250 students, having the necessary resources for everyone has helped create a more organized, equitable, and productive learning environment. Because of your generosity, students now have access to brand new novels, which has helped create a more engaging and positive reading environment. Having their own copies allows them to follow along more closely and take greater ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nWith these texts, we have been able to focus on key skills such as comprehension, making inferences, analyzing characters, and understanding themes. When working through plays, in particular, students are better able to track the dialogue, understand the structure, and make sense of more complex language.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is interactive. Students annotate their books, participate in group discussions, and sometimes act out scenes to deepen their understanding. This approach helps bring the text to life and keeps students actively involved.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who typically struggle with reading have shown noticeable growth and increased interest. Having a new book of their own has made them more willing to participate, whether that's reading aloud, sharing ideas, or asking questions. Overall, the addition of these novels has not only supported skill development but has also made reading more enjoyable for our students.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your support and for helping create these opportunities in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1765590965691,"projectUrl":"project/from-cardstock-to-shakespeare-building/9952137/","projectTitle":"From Cardstock to Shakespeare: Building Better Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bustamante","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9210765"},{"teacherId":9401983,"projectId":9610245,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for replacing some lost and damage books for the Roosevelt community. Through this process, they learn programming, computer vision, data analysis, and control systems—skills that are used in fields such as robotics, aerospace, and autonomous vehicles.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is seeing the robot actually respond to the code they wrote. When the camera detects a target and the robot automatically turns, aims, or adjusts itself, students immediately see the connection between their programming and the robot's actions. Taking photos helps them document their experiences, reflect on what they are learning, and share those moments with others.
