When the box of recorders arrived, my students were absolutely ecstatic! They had so much fun that very first day just getting their hands on them and learning all about recorder history. For a lot of my students, this was their first time holding a real instrument (besides classroom percussion), and the excitement in the room was unreal.\r\n\r\nHaving a complete set meant we could jump straight into playing. We started out learning B and A, but once they mastered our third note, G, a whole new world opened up. Suddenly we had so many songs to play (including Hot Cross Buns of course!).\r\n\r\nNow that the new school year is starting, they get to use these recorders even more! We're kicking off \"Recorder Karate,\" a competitive and super fun belt system where students earn different colored belts as they master and pass off their songs.\r\n\r\nNone of this would have been possible without your generosity. Completing a class set on my own just wasn't doable with my school's budget, so having your support means so much to me and my students. You didn't just donate instruments, you gave every upper elementary student their very own way to make music, build confidence, and feel like a real musician.
