This year, we took that support one step further by offering a Summer Bridge Academy, giving our incoming freshmen an opportunity to become familiar with our school, meet new classmates and teachers, build relationships, and begin developing the confidence they need to navigate their first year of high school. Your generosity helped us create a welcoming environment where students could begin this new chapter feeling connected and supported.\r\n\r\nWe tweaked our original proposal. The orange juice became a fun and meaningful way to kick off the school year with a little \"Vitamin C\" — Vitamin Connection! It gave us an opportunity to bring students together, celebrate the beginning of their high school journey, and remind them that they are now part of the Rockville High School community. Something as simple as sharing a drink became a moment for students to talk, laugh, make connections, and feel welcomed. The ones that they were using before were very old, slow, and needed to be repaired/serviced. These ones were ready to go out out of the box and students are now honing their sewing skills! \r\n\r\nOur next step in my sewing club is to have students continue to practice their sewing skills with more complex projects.
