My students and I are using the sewing machines to learn how to sew and make cool and functional projects. For example, in December, they made reusable hand warmers and heating pads. They contain rice and lavender and can be heated in the microwave safely.\r\n\r\nThe students were very excited to see the new sewing machines! The ones that they were using before were very old, slow, and needed to be repaired/serviced. These ones were ready to go out out of the box and students are now honing their sewing skills! \r\n\r\nOur next step in my sewing club is to have students continue to practice their sewing skills with more complex projects. Some students may also start their own independent projects once they have mastered the basic skills. This would not be possible without your generous donation to which we are indebted.","fullyFundedDate":1763412314674,"projectUrl":"project/stitch-lab-lets-learn-how-to-sew/9812840/","projectTitle":"Stitch Lab: Let's Learn How to Sew!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Williams","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9436668"},{"teacherId":9459843,"projectId":9275292,"letterContent":"My students were so excited to receive the science supplies! Since we don't have access to a lab, the materials were incredibly helpful in making connections between real-life body parts and bone and muscle names. \r\n\r\nIn one example, we learned about lines of the brain by studying Phineas Gage.
