Many of my students are sensitive to noise or can become distracted by sounds in the classroom. The headphones provide a calmer learning environment, helping them focus on lessons, follow directions, and participate in classroom activities with greater comfort and confidence. This technology is especially helpful during independent work, small-group instruction, and other times when the classroom can become busy or noisy.\r\n\r\nWhat is most exciting is seeing students recognize that the headphones are a tool that helps them learn. Some students who previously had difficulty staying focused are now better able to engage with their work when they use the headphones. The headphones also give students a simple way to manage classroom sounds and communicate when they need a quieter learning space. We are so grateful to our donors for providing this resource and helping create a more supportive, inclusive classroom where every student has the opportunity to learn and succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1776976322864,"projectUrl":"project/creating-calm-focus-for-our-little-spe/10075624/","projectTitle":"Creating Calm & Focus for Our Little Sped Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Osabel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10425626_orig.jpg?crop=1233,1233,x359,y5&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769881729869","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10425626"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16616","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":223,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":75,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":6,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"8.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":56.1,"schoolId":16616,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Otto Fridia Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Otto Fridia Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/dallas-independent-school-district/robert-l-thornton-elementary-school/16616"}
