Sometimes they each take a page and or paragraph if they are able to read. Some just look at the pictures but that's OK. Someme culture books are great to make connections and develop their background knowledge. \r\n\r\nBooks are enjoying to students who are learning to read and seeking themselves in some of the books. Having students prepared makes a difference in their goal setting and in meeting their goals. Watching them work together to carefully pull and stack the giant Jenga blocks has been incredible. Not only are they strengthening their grip, coordination, and balance, but they are also practicing communication, patience, and teamwork in ways that are meaningful and accessible to them.\r\n\r\nThese resources have quickly become favorites in our classroom. We've adapted the games so that every student can participate, regardless of their ability level, and it's been heartwarming to see how inclusive and supportive they are of one another. When students don't like to participate because they don't like being wrong. However, when we spin the Wheel Name, they look forward to answering, as they will be placed in a second drawing to get an opportunity to sit on that chair wherever they are in class.\r\n\r\nI have students who are concerned with the current status of our state and how some are dealing with fears of losing their homes.
