Your are helping to support hands-on activities through STEM to enhance learning in the classroom. \r\n\r\nThese are some of the STEM projects you supported. For Thanksgiving, we were learning about being grateful. Students wanted to make some type of Thanksgiving decoration, not just the normal turkey paper with grateful feathers. Together, we engineered a pinecone turkey using peacock feathers and googly eyes. As designing we also discussed all the parts of the turkey that was needed. \r\n\r\nThe second project was for the Christmas Holiday. It happened to be reindeer day at school for spirit week. We had to dress like reindeer. Therefore, we had to create Candy Cane Reindeers with pipe cleaners, red pom-pom and googly eyes. Then we create Magic Reindeer food too! \r\n\r\nThen our fun wasn't done! We have been travel to different countries to learn about their holiday traditions for Christmas. Unfortunately, our train derailed in Florida. Therefore we took a virtual field trip through Epcot. Well, you can't go to Disney World without Mickey and Minnie ears! Some of the plastic tablecloths were used for our treat from each country we visited and of course hot chocolate! \r\n\r\nThe rest of the supplies will be used this coming spring for flowers, insects, and creating a S'more Solar oven out of the compostable square containers. Thanks to you kindness and generosity, my students will learn more when they are active in the learning process.","fullyFundedDate":1746806351423,"projectUrl":"project/learning-through-stem/9272760/","projectTitle":"Learning Through STEM","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Breit","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2450437_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1533665844844","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/wendy-breit"},{"teacherId":2450437,"projectId":9795735,"letterContent":"A big thank-you to everyone who donated and supported our classroom! I just completed Parent/Teacher conferences and I had a parent express how grateful he/she was for the pencil case full of need supplies at home. The pencil sharpener was the hit. Never fails, the pencil breaks as soon as you use it and the erasers usually falls off the pencil. Therefore, having the pencil sharpener and an eraser is awesome. The multicolored pen and marker works great in writing the spelling words three different ways. Their child can write in pencil, pen, and marker, thanks to your donation. \r\nMy students had fun learning how to form letters, and making sounds of the letters with the Playdoh. Playdoh is easy to roll, make straight lines, and curves. We also used the Playdoh when we were adding and subtracting. This also help with their counting skills since they had to make balls for the larger number. The boys loved smashing the ball when we were subtracting numbers. \r\nThank you again for your donation. These simple supplies have help my students enhancing their learning process.","fullyFundedDate":1758928168567,"projectUrl":"project/shortage-of-basic-supplies-for-the-class/9750319/","projectTitle":"Shortage of Basic Supplies for the Classroom and Home","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Breit","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2450437_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1533665844844","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/wendy-breit"},{"teacherId":2450437,"projectId":9520958,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom project for creating memories. \r\n\r\nWe have already started creating memories with the construction paper, black permanent markers, card stock and pens. With these items were create a picture of ourselves on card stock. We then cut ourselves out and pasted onto construction paper. We then took rectangular card stock pieces and wrote adjective s that describe ourselves. This was a great way to use adjectives that we had learned and express what adjectives pertain to ourselves. Of course, we need to clean our desk with the Lysol wipes that we also received. We use these daily, especially at the end of the day to kill germs and keep healthy. \r\n\r\nOur notebooks have been very handy to practice writing our alphabet and numbers. We used the highlighters to highlight our best letters. Further more to help us form our letters, we are using our dry erase markers to practice writing our sounds and spelling words. Mrs. Breit has dry erase pocket sleeves that has lined paper inside and we use for practicing. \r\n\r\nMy student will be grateful when I get the modeling clay and card stock later this year. With these supplies we will be creating our landforms and learn about the formation of caves. We will also be creating volcanoes with these supplies. \r\n\r\nThank you for donating and support to our supplies need to create these memories and many more. Thank you! Thank you! I love sharing different cultures with my students, especially Lunar New Year. With your donations, I was able to give my students first-hand experiences and the opportunity to try things that they have not before. \r\n\r\nAs with any celebration, food is always important to share. With the Mandarin the students remembered that oranges were a symbol of good fortune and prosperity. Along with the oranges, I made sticky Japanese rice. We learned how to hold the chopsticks and tried eating the rice and dumplings with them. This was fun and entertaining at the same time. I had one student say that he would starve if he had to eat with chopsticks all the time. Everyone reminded him that it takes practice. By the end of the celebration, he was able to pickup a dumpling. \r\n\r\nWe also tried putting rice into the seaweed and rolling it up just like sushi. Some thought it tasted fishy so they put honey on the seaweed and the rice cakes. \r\n\r\nThank you for the gloves too! We have been hit with many snow storms and cold days, that these came in handy to help protect our hands from the cold. We had to change the date of our celebration a couple times because of weather. However, thanks to your donation to our classroom project so that I can help build awareness and respect for other cultures around us.","fullyFundedDate":1735498483317,"projectUrl":"project/year-of-the-snake-lunar-new-year-celebra/9020982/","projectTitle":"Year of the Snake-Lunar New Year Celebration","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Breit","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2450437_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1533665844844","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/wendy-breit"},{"teacherId":2450437,"projectId":8952633,"letterContent":"Words cannot express how greatly we are for supporting our Lunar New Year project. However, the snake slap bracelets were a big hit. Definitely a memento for them to remember this experience. \r\n\r\nAfter reading Amy WU, The Patchwork Dragon, they loved creating their own dragon.
