My students eagerly work to earn \"Cub Cash\" by following our CUB Code—being Responsible, Respectful, and Safe—and we've been using the store as part of our weekly routine. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who had been struggling with behavior all year carefully count his Cub Cash, proudly \"purchase\" a small snack, and tell me, \"I earned this all by myself.\" That sense of ownership and pride is exactly what this project was meant to create.\r\nWhen my students first saw the boxes of materials, their excitement was immediate—big smiles, wide eyes, and lots of questions. I was able to share with them that a group of amazing people donated these items just for them, which made the moment even more special. They truly felt seen and cared for. Since then, I've already noticed an increase in positive choices, teamwork, and encouragement among classmates. They remind each other about expectations and celebrate each other's successes.\r\nMoving forward, we are continuing to connect Cub Cash to both behavior and academic effort. As we work through current lessons, students can earn rewards for perseverance, participation, and growth. My goal is to keep building a classroom culture where students feel motivated, supported, and proud of themselves—not just for what they achieve, but for how they get there. Your support is helping make that possible every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1769177463445,"projectUrl":"project/cub-cash-store-rewarding-responsibility/9935304/","projectTitle":"Cub Cash Store: Rewarding Responsibility, Respect, and Safety","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Estrada","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4435195_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1493435327324","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4435195"},{"teacherId":2149099,"projectId":9526265,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for your generous donation of ink for my laser printer. I am a fifth-grade teacher on a campus that serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade, and my goal this year has been to make our school experience both positive and memorable for our students.\r\n\r\nI have been an educator for over 20 years, and the students we teach today face challenges that are very different from those of past generations. Many students are navigating significant personal hardships outside of school, which can make it difficult for them to prioritize learning. In recent years, we have also seen an increase in disrespectful and disruptive behaviors across classrooms and throughout our building. As a result, I wanted to find a meaningful way to motivate and encourage students to make positive choices.\r\n\r\nBecause of your donation, teachers are able to nominate one student each month who consistently demonstrates respectful, responsible, and safe behavior. These students are recognized at a school assembly by our assistant principals and principal. They receive certificates, yard signs, small rewards, and their photograph is displayed on our fifth-grade hallway bulletin board for the entire school community to see.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made it possible for me to produce the certificates and photographs that honor these students. Thank you for supporting our efforts to motivate and inspire students to make positive choices and for making a lasting impact on our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1758202737524,"projectUrl":"project/spotlighting-sensational-student-behavio/9526265/","projectTitle":"Spotlighting Sensational Student Behavior","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. LeBlanc","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2149099_orig.jpg?crop=1945,1945,x0,y247&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754082197027","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2149099"},{"teacherId":7803766,"projectId":9450325,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! Your generous gift of word work boards and Elkonin box boards has made such a meaningful impact on my students' learning.\r\n\r\nWe use these boards daily during small group reading interventions. The Elkonin boxes help my students break words into sounds and really see how letters and sounds work together, while the word work boards give them a hands-on way to build and manipulate words. One of my favorite moments so far was watching a struggling reader confidently tap out the sounds in ship and then beam with pride when he built it correctly on his board. Moments like this show just how powerful these tools are for building confidence and skills.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the boards, their eyes lit up. They couldn't wait to get their hands on them, and I could hear excited whispers of, \"This looks fun!\" The materials have turned word work into something they look forward to each day.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we'll continue using these resources to deepen phonics practice with UFLI lessons. My students are moving into more complex word patterns, and the boards will give them the structure and support they need to take that next step.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your kindness and investment in our learning.
