Our PreK students use this light table on a daily basis. We have been able to incorporate new materials that are specific to the light table, such as transparent strips with the student's names and transparent letters to work on recognizing and spelling their names (and their classmates names!) \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the humongous box, they were very inquisitive and stood around patiently to see what it was. They were able to see the process of receiving a package, unpacking it, and putting it together for an end result. That process was an additional perk to this project as we were able to model appropriately for a real life situation. \r\n\r\nOur next steps with our light table include, more transparent activities with letters and numbers, using transparent blocks to work on team work and sharing, and continuing to change out materials to go along with what we are learning.
