The teachers like the iPads, because there are so many enriching programs out there. Reading, writing, math, grammar, science, you name it, I'm sure there is a super app that has been developed to enhance students' learning. Kids love the iPads even more than the teachers, because of the fun way these programs have been developed to keep the students interested in learning. iPads are a great way to incorporate technology into the classroom. The problems arise when you have 25 students on 6 different applications in 25 different places in the applications. The noise level of the classroom is so loud that it's a wonder the students can even think! This was my classroom before Donors Choose.\r\n Now picture this: a quiet classroom, each student on their iPad, at their own plac in the programs, listening and working productively, because of your generous donations. Your generous donations have purchased new headphones, one per student (they don't have to share or take turns!) The headphones are comfortable, they fold compactly to fit in their desks, and the volume on them is controlled so that their hearing is protected. That is my classroom now.\r\n Donors, what you have here are 25 very grateful students, and one extremely grateful teacher. Third graders are not quiet by nature, and yet, here they are, engaged and working hard on their assignments in the apps. Several students remarked at how soft and comfortable the headphones were. Other students were very happy that they could listen to their iPads at a decent volume without bothering their neighbors. Due to your kindness, my TK students now have so many different, fun hands-on learning tools that have already brought so much joy and excitement to our classroom! \r\n\r\nI have slowly been introducing each new game, activity, or puzzle and the excitement in the classroom is simply contagious! Each new learning tool has directly impacted my students' learning and we are all so grateful for your help! I wanted to specifically highlight a couple items that my TKs have been loving. My students have found so much joy in the paint sticks and I have loved seeing their beautiful creations at our new and improved art center! The fine motor peacock pals have also been a huge hit. My students love matching the colored feathers to the correct peacocks and using their imagination as they play together. Your kindness has given our class a Tonies Audio Player which has added so much joy and excitement to our classroom!\r\n\r\nWhen I first introduced our Tonies box as a new listening center, my TK students were so excited! They were eager to explore and try out the different characters, stories, and songs that came in our set. It didn't take long before our Tonies box became a popular choice during our independent and small group centers time. It has quickly added so much story time magic to our classroom, and my students have the biggest smiles while listening. Our Tonies box has helped my students build listening comprehension skills, expand their vocabulary, and develop a deeper love for stories and classroom songs. \r\n\r\nYour donations created new opportunities for my students to learn, dream, and grow this school year!
