The individual whiteboards have made a wonderful difference because every student can show their thinking and participate, even when speaking in front of the class feels difficult.\r\n\r\nOne of my newcomer students was often afraid to share an answer, even in Spanish, and sometimes felt out of place. With the whiteboard, he can now show his math thinking right alongside his classmates. The smile on his face when he realizes he knows the answer and can participate with everyone else is something I will always remember.\r\n\r\nThe laminator has also become such an important part of our classroom. I use it to laminate reading and math worksheets that we use during centers, which allows my students to write on them, erase their work, and use them again and again. This has helped me cut down on the number of paper copies I need to print and has reduced so much unnecessary paper waste.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students more than supplies. You have given them confidence, a voice, and a stronger sense of belonging in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1788181240630,"projectUrl":"project/building-bright-futures-one-supply-at-a/10360276/","projectTitle":"Building Bright Futures, One Supply at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cordova","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8481187_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1668516093814","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8481187"},{"teacherId":7824924,"projectId":10098433,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity! We even saw growth in their letter identification skills. Students even helped each other when they noticed someone was having a little bit of trouble and needed more support. One of our students' favorite routines is reading our weekly poems which are written on the large chart paper. The class spend the first few days of the week reading the poem together. We look for letters and words we know, identify rhyming words, and even practice reading skills like visualizing, sequencing, and inferring. Later in the week, student are excited to take turns using the pointer to read out loud to the class themselves. Looking around and seeing our classroom walls fill up with so much evidence of learning and participation from even our youngest students in school is so impressive.\r\n\r\nThe work we are doing in our classroom would not be possible without your support for this project.
