My name is Leann Smith and I am a Kindergarten teacher. I work for Tacoma Public Schools. I can't imagine teaching anywhere else. I work in a school that qualifies for over 90% free and reduced lunch. We face many challenges in our school from poverty, crime and frequent transitions in our classrooms. These challenges are what keep me coming back and to do everything in my power to impact student learning. I am looking to have a classroom carpet funded through this donar page. Our school has taken on a theme "Going Global". We would like our student's to walk away from Reed as Global Citezens. It would be fun to have a carpet that would share this theme and engage the children. We have our morning meetings around this carpet and it is the center of our whole group learning.
