When they first saw the boxes, several of them said things like, \"These are for us?\" and \"Now we're really ready for testing!\" It was a small moment, but you could truly see the boost in confidence and motivation.\r\nWe've also been putting our new resources to meaningful use. One of the first projects we jumped into was a focused reading‑and-stamina challenge. Students rotated through small groups, practicing comprehension strategies while enjoying their snacks. It became a great opportunity to talk about taking care of their minds and bodies before big assessments. The calm, positive energy in the room felt different—more settled, more supported.\r\nA favorite moment:\r\nDuring our review stations, one of my students who usually struggles with attention said, \"I feel like I can think better today.\" That simple statement meant everything. The resources didn't just meet a physical need—they genuinely impacted their academic mindset. We're moving into a new project where students will analyze short passages and practice writing clear, structured responses. The snacks will continue to help them stay focused during these longer work periods. We're also planning a small \"Testing Readiness Celebration\" where students will reflect on their growth and set intentions for the next quarter.\r\nYour generosity made real moments of joy, comfort, and confidence possible. Thank you for giving my students what they need to do their best—they feel it, and I see it every day.","fullyFundedDate":1769025676756,"projectUrl":"project/healthy-snack-me/9966248/","projectTitle":"Healthy Snack Me!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Reaves","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3377003_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1522684675434","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3377003"},{"teacherId":10326810,"projectId":9852479,"letterContent":"Everything that has been donated is truly appreciated and has already made a difference for my students.\r\n\r\nMy students are English language learners who work hard each day to build their language skills and confidence. Many are new to the country and need extra support to understand what they read and to share their ideas in writing. These materials have helped create a classroom where students feel encouraged, supported, and comfortable trying new things with English.\r\n\r\nThe Spanish–English dictionaries are used daily during reading and writing lessons to help students understand new words and phrases. This has improved comprehension and allowed students to write more clearly and with greater confidence. The chart paper has also been valuable, giving students a space to work together, brainstorm, and visually organize their ideas. Through group work, students are more engaged, participate more often, and take pride in sharing their learning.","fullyFundedDate":1762196223207,"projectUrl":"project/building-english-confidence-tools-for-m/9852479/","projectTitle":"Building English Confidence: Tools for My Language Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ricardo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10326810_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1770304927822","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10326810"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_45891","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":661,"numTeachers":31,"percentFrplEligible":67,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":22,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":73,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"21.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":42.9,"schoolId":45891,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Redland Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Redland Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/miami-dade-county-public-schools/redland-middle-school/45891"}
