They are excited to see what current events are going on in the world, ready for a debate and a chance to have a good conversation backed with the information they just learned.\r\nScholastic News helps students develop skills and meet academic standards in a number of ways. Students can read and discuss articles about current events, science and social studies which builds background knowledge. Students build academic and content area vocabulary with featured texts. They practice skills like reading comprehension and writing. Lessons are aligned to state and national standards, as well as the Science of Reading. \r\n As a teacher, I appreciate how I can customize content with adjustable reading levels, audio read-a-louds, and writing prompts.
