The rug instantly became a gathering spot where every student could feel included, safe, and comfortable.\r\n\r\nNow, we use our meeting area daily for morning meetings, read-alouds, and group lessons. Having a soft, structured place to sit helps my students stay focused and engaged, while also supporting the routines and consistency that are so important in our Horizon ASD class. It has created a sense of belonging and calm that makes learning more enjoyable and accessible.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, the rug will continue to play a central role in our classroom. It will be where we share stories, solve problems together, and build our sense of community throughout the school year.
