They rushed over to sit together, and for the first time, we had a cozy, defined space that truly felt like the heart of our classroom. The rug instantly became a gathering spot where every student could feel included, safe, and comfortable.\r\n\r\nNow, we use our meeting area daily for morning meetings, read-alouds, and group lessons. Having a soft, structured place to sit helps my students stay focused and engaged, while also supporting the routines and consistency that are so important in our Horizon ASD class. It has created a sense of belonging and calm that makes learning more enjoyable and accessible.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, the rug will continue to play a central role in our classroom. It will be where we share stories, solve problems together, and build our sense of community throughout the school year. My classroom is much more organized and runs much more smoothly.\r\nWhen you look at the pictures I sent, you will see that the class library looks beautiful and is easily accessible to the students. Each book bin is labeled with a picture so that the children know where each book belongs. The class is so full of excitement when it is time to exchange books. They are able to easily return and choose new books to go in their book baggies. The bins are sturdy and beautiful, and give my library a neat and uniformed look. I absolutely love how it looks! \r\nThe pocket charts are used during math time for our centers and help keep the classroom routines running smoothly. The children's names are placed in the pocket charts and are changed daily. The children use the 120 charts each day and it is one of their favorite centers.\r\nThe desk dividers help the students when they are taking tests so that they are not distracted or tempted to look at another child's work. The children absolutely love using them and love the beautiful colors. \r\nYour gift to my classroom has made such an impact in almost every year every area of the students education. Not only has your gift affected the students that I am teaching this year, but it will affect every class that I teach in the future. Your gift to my class has made such a difference in the children's interest in reading. The class was so excited to see the new books as they arrived in the classroom. They could not wait to choose which books they would read. After I organized the books into our library the children were given the book baggies labeled with their names. They were taught how to handle the books kindly so they would not get ruined. Each student was allowed to choose four books to put in their baggies. \r\nI purchased hooks to attach to the sides of their desks to hang the baggies of books. The students can easily access their books, and the books are kept safe from being crammed into their desks. This keeps the books from being bent or torn. They are loving the new books and can't wait until reading time each day. The students even beg to read when they have completed math early and have extra time. The assortment of books allows for the different interests and reading levels I have in my class. There really is such a nice assortment that there is a book that interests each child. Each week the children are allowed to go book shopping to change out their books. This is such an exciting time for them. \r\nThis new library has made my teaching so much easier. When I am looking to teach on a subject, I can easily find the book I need. What a difference these books have made in my classroom. I absolutely love how my students are loving reading and becoming better readers.
