This project will help to ensure that all of our students will be able to participate in physical education while connecting from home, whether on a hybrid remote learning day, or fully remote due to concerns for COVID-19. Did you know soccer is the most popular sport outside of the United States? It is! This connects to our school population, as more than 50% of our population identifies with a country outside of the United States. That is why such a simple item can be such a valuable learning tool for my students. Of course the soccer balls can be used to practice soccer skills, but also they can be dribbled with the hand as well, so they we can practice yet another sport skill with them, too! We will also use them for fitness exercises such as squats, lunges, abdominal twists, etc. However, not all of my students may have a ball suitable to participate in PE at home safely. This project will allow my students to fully engage in my PE class and develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities to live a healthy, active life for years to come!
