As a speech and language therapist within the school system a large part of my role has to do with building foundational language-related skills that "build the muscles" of a student's reading skills (as well as writing skills and general communication skills). As students progress and academics become more challenging, I have the pleasure of working with students who struggle to keep up with the demands of the classroom. We work together in a small group environment to build the skills needed to access the classroom curriculum. This library will build a bridge between my speech room and students' classrooms, and it will help to motivate them to continue to work towards becoming stronger and more passionate readers and learners!
