Having access to color printing means I can now create and display vibrant, engaging materials that truly capture their attention and help them understand complex ideas—especially tools like the Zones of Regulation, which rely on color to teach emotional awareness and self-regulation.\r\n\r\nBeyond visuals, the printer allows me to produce customized worksheets, schedules, and activity cards that meet each student's individual needs. Thanks to your donations, our classroom is now equipped with engaging SEL posters and visuals, a calming corner, and a complete Zones of Regulation toolbox—all of which are already making a tremendous difference in my students' daily lives.\r\n\r\nSince introducing these new tools, I've seen a noticeable shift in how my students handle their emotions and interact with one another. The calming corner has become a safe, welcoming space where students can take a break, reflect, and use self-regulation strategies before rejoining the group. The Zones of Regulation visuals help them identify their feelings and choose appropriate tools to manage them. Our posters and visuals around the room serve as gentle daily reminders of kindness, empathy, and emotional awareness.\r\n\r\nIt's been inspiring to watch students use the language of emotions more confidently—expressing when they are in the \"blue zone\" or using breathing techniques to move from \"yellow\" to \"green.\" The sense of emotional safety and community in our classroom continues to grow because of these tools.","fullyFundedDate":1758636489662,"projectUrl":"project/helping-hearts-tools-to-support-emotion/9670605/","projectTitle":"Helping Hearts: Tools to Support Emotional Growth and Regulation","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Leah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10034758_orig.jpg?crop=2580,2580,x141,y362&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747152671216","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10034758"},{"teacherId":10034758,"projectId":9656055,"letterContent":"Thanks to your kindness and support, our occupational therapy classroom has been transformed with color, creativity, and meaningful visuals! These items were so helpful as I moved into a new classroom this year with a new group of learners with all different needs. Each student now has their own mailbox, which we use for daily communication, completed work, and special notes. The baskets help us keep centers, group activities, and materials organized, so things the students need are always ready and easy to find. One special moment was during our daily independent reading time when students were able to independently grab their reading activities from their designated basket and get started right away. These tools have supported independence, reduced transition time, and allowed my students to focus more on learning rather than searching for materials or waiting for help.
