My students were ecstatic when they came to school to find a brand new carpet and new books for them to use. The carpet allows for them to come closer to the board for whole-group instruction, and for completing work independently when they want a break from sitting at their tables. \r\n\r\nI was also able to purchase a gift card to the site Teachers Pay Teachers, where I have been able to find so many engaging resources to add to my instruction. Most recently, we completed a scavenger hunt in the classroom to identify different states of matter, with a resource I purchased on Teachers Pay Teachers. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly made an impact on so many lives and I cannot thank you enough.","fullyFundedDate":1756869178485,"projectUrl":"project/second-grade-success/9661443/","projectTitle":"Second Grade Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gioello","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9064475_orig.png?crop=848,848,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756417462725","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9064475"},{"teacherId":8500261,"projectId":8737203,"letterContent":"This project has allowed my students to explore our language function units more deeply and effectively. These materials made a measurable impact on student learning across multiple subjects and transformed the way our students engaged with their work.\r\n\r\nThe Polaroid cameras became a powerful tool for creativity and expression. Students used them to document their artwork, stages of their learning process, and classroom projects. This helped them build visual-literacy skills and supported deeper reflection. Students who normally struggled to participate became more invested when they could capture their own work and see it displayed instantly.\r\n\r\nThe art hangers allowed us to turn our classroom into a rotating gallery. Students displayed their photos, artwork, writing pieces, and math projects in a professional and organized way. This not only increased pride in their work but also encouraged peer feedback, creativity, and collaboration. Students took ownership of the space, and the constant presence of their work reinforced that learning should be visible and celebrated.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our class accomplished more than we could have with traditional materials alone. We documented growth, connected learning across subject areas, increased engagement for reluctant learners, and created a classroom culture where students were excited to create, share, and learn every day.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. Our youngest coders in grades K & 1 have been having so much fun learning about principles of coding by using the colorful Bee-Bot robots. They are learning coding vocabulary words like algorithm and debugging. In addition, they are learning to problem solve and solve problems in multiple ways which are important skills for our young learners.\r\nOur students now understand what an algorithm is and they are able to create algorithms to direct Bee-Bot to a specific place on a map. They can also change the route that Bee-Bot takes to the same spot, and debug when the robot does not go where they want him to. Students have learned to code cooperatively in pairs and small groups as well using different roles like driver and navigator. In addition, students are able to write down the code sequences they create using arrows and symbols so that their code can be read and folowed by a classmate. \r\nWhenever I enter a room with our Bee-Bots the children's faces light up with excitement.
