My students are getting ready to begin a study on light, but we need your help! In order for my students to have the optimal learning experience, I am requesting a light table, flashlights, a light brite, and other materials to help the children explore light! These hands-on materials will naturally attract the children, especially the gentle glow of a light table. A light table will allow the children to engage in the exploration of light while providing opportunities to incorporate literacy, math, and writing skills. The light table will also provide students an opportunity to engage with natural materials and loose parts providing sensory-based, open-ended play experiences! The students will love learning letters, exploring numbers, counting, sorting and many more concepts on the light table while enjoying the soft calming light and colors of the materials. The materials requested will encourage imagination and spark learning, allowing the students to study light in a variety of ways. The best part is we can enjoy the use of the materials after our study by incorporating them into our future units, while always encouraging our students to let their light shine!
