These materials have completely transformed our literacy lessons. The boards help my students practice sounding out and writing CVC words like cat, dog, and sun, while the crayons let them draw matching pictures to show understanding. This combination of writing and illustrating has made word work more meaningful, helping students connect letters, sounds, and visuals in a fun and memorable way.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement in the room was contagious. The kids could hardly wait to open the boxes and start using their new supplies. They loved writing words, erasing, and trying again until they got it right—and then proudly drawing their own little \"cat\" or \"bug\" to go with their writing. Even my most hesitant writers have become more engaged because the lessons now feel like art and learning rolled into one!\r\n\r\nOur next step is using the boards and crayons to build simple sentences and illustrate short stories. This helps students see how words come together to create meaning, not just isolated sounds. Thanks to your donation, my students are not only learning how to read and write—they're also discovering how much fun it can be to express themselves through their work. Your generosity has brought joy, confidence, and creativity to our classroom every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1744290082943,"projectUrl":"project/coloring-creating-and-learning-tools/9015612/","projectTitle":"Coloring, Creating, and Learning: Tools for Small Group Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gabrielli","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9048382_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1708296019456","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9048382"},{"teacherId":9048382,"projectId":9078897,"letterContent":"The addition of my dry erase board small-group table and stools has completely transformed the way my students engage during instruction. The stools help create a flexible, inclusive setup where students can easily move, share ideas, and stay focused. There is enough room for all 24 students to gather at one time. They all sit on the rug when learning a new concept, game, or small group activity. It allows me to have all of them close to me as opposed to being spread throughout the classroom at their desks.\r\nWe also use the rug during indoor recess.
