Our school gardens are such an important part of the school community. The storage benches will help make watering and keeping them alive easier. We don't have a secure space to store the hoses, so the storage benches are needed so we can lock them up when not in use. Because plants in gardens require healthy soil, sunlight and WATER--the storage benches for our hoses are critical. With the donation of the benches, our students can continue to learn and grow in the garden along with the flowers and vegetables! The school gardens are a space where students, teachers and community members work together to grow plants. We educate all about the life cycle of seeds, climate, soil health, and compost in our gardens. This project will help all of the good work continue to grow! Next year, our school will be part of the Farm to School initiative and it will be important more than ever to keep our gardens alive. We will have one raised bed dedicated to a specific vegetable that will be harvested and consumed by the students at our school! We are so excited for this growing season!
