It encourages listening comprehension, language development, and independence in a playful, age-appropriate way. Our 3-year-olds are learning to follow directions, recall story details, and make connections between what they hear and their own experiences. Because they can independently place a character on the Toniebox to start a story or song, they're also building confidence, responsibility, and problem-solving skills through hands-on exploration.\r\n\r\nThe children are thrilled by the magic of how it works! They love choosing which Tonie character to play and watching the box \"come to life\" with familiar voices, music, and stories. The excitement and anticipation when they pick a new Tonie to explore are incredible. They also love dancing, singing, and acting out parts of the stories — it's turned listening time into an interactive, joyful classroom experience.\r\n\r\nSeveral of our quieter students who were hesitant to speak in group settings have found their voice through the Toniebox. They enjoy retelling parts of the stories to their friends or pretending to be the characters afterward. One student with limited attention span has shown remarkable focus during Tonie time, sitting and listening through entire songs and stories. The Toniebox has created new ways for all children — especially those who learn best through sound and movement — to engage, connect, and grow.","fullyFundedDate":1758898788833,"projectUrl":"project/toniebox-for-toddlers/9555443/","projectTitle":"TonieBox for Toddlers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mulea","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6104695_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755717972991","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsmulea"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_1165","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":354,"numTeachers":31,"percentFrplEligible":78,"percentAsian":30,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":35,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":62.5,"schoolId":1165,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 38 George Cromwell on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 38 George Cromwell","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-38-george-cromwell/1165"}
