Thanks to their grateful donation I was able to purchase a class set of steel tongue drums that made for a very calming music making environment and successful sense of learning among many students.\r\n\r\nStudents have used the pitched steel drums to learn a wide range of popular songs and classics that use a number system as music notation that are directly to the scale degrees \r\ndiscussed in music theory. Students explored building chords, improvising, and performing together. On the first day, students chose a small group to learn a chosen song, then share their performances!
