I cannot describe how smoothly and more conveniently by lessons requiring mass calculations will run now that I have enough scales for each table. We do a few really fun labs in my Biology class- one which simulations bird strikes on windows where students have to mass out clay to simulate the weight of different bird species. In 7th grade, we use the scales to calculate the mass and eventual density of a mystery material to determine if a goldsmith cheated a King and made his crown out of a material other than gold. In the past, my 30+ students were all sharing the same 3 scales. The lessons took more time, felt more chaotic and management of behavior was difficult because students had to keep getting up out of their desks to share the scales. Now, having one for each group, we can eliminate those obstacles. And those impacts will last for years to come. All of this is thanks to your generosity and caring about our kids and their learning. I promise you it was the best money you spent that day! \r\n\r\nPlease consider continuing donating to the many teachers on this platform to make their projects come to life. It is so worthwhile and the return on investment in our future and these kids' educations is invaluable.","fullyFundedDate":1770749860277,"projectUrl":"project/mass-tering-density-equations/9897617/","projectTitle":"MASS-tering Density Equations","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Carcione","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3695586_orig.jpg?crop=1163,1163,x0,y302&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759373843291","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-carcione"},{"teacherId":3695586,"projectId":9702739,"letterContent":"I can't explain how excited my students were to use these brand new Amscopes. So far in the past week alone, we have observed osmosis of water through an onion cell placed in hypertonic and hypotonic solutions, as well as observed the stomata and guard cells on the backs of leaves that allow for transpiration. The scopes are such easy pieces of equipment to use and we get really clear, close up images that are enlarged for easy viewing. Check out our photos and please continue to support our class projects. You make such a big difference. These two labs would not have been possible without your generosity. The pocket chart, pencil sharpener, and word-frame paper have already made a noticeable difference in our daily phonics work.\r\n\r\nWe've begun using the pocket chart during our first-grade phonics lessons, and it has transformed how my students practice building and decoding words. One moment that really stood out was when a small group eagerly took turns placing letter cards in the chart to blend new sounds—seeing their excitement and confidence grow was wonderful. The new pencil sharpener has also been a hit; my students love being able to sharpen their pencils quickly and independently, which keeps our lessons running smoothly. The word-frame paper has added a hands-on element to our writing routines, helping students visually break apart and build words with much more accuracy.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were thrilled. They immediately asked, \"Can we use it today?\" Their enthusiasm was contagious, and it reminded me how powerful the right tools can be.\r\n\r\nThese resources will be used throughout our current phonics unit as we continue practicing blending, segmenting, and spelling new patterns. Our next steps include using the pocket chart for weekly word-sorting activities and incorporating the word-frame paper into small-group interventions to support growing writers.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our classroom. Your kindness has brought excitement, independence, and joy to our learning—and we are truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1758898804865,"projectUrl":"project/pocket-charts-with-a-purpose/9693497/","projectTitle":"Pocket Charts With a Purpose","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Walpole","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3640835_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1630125635914","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3640835"},{"teacherId":1508420,"projectId":9471798,"letterContent":"Time is flying by in first grade!
