To me, sending a letter home on a bright colored paper is eye catching! We want students to remember those letters and permission slips and we want them to make it home to mom! Having a variety of colored papers and cardstocks on hand has allowed to me quickly print and send home notes and permission slips. White we have fantastic laser printers at school, they don't print well on photo paper. Enrichment clubs, recess activities, and special projects allow our children to learn new things and participate in new activities. This year, I have worked with small groups of children and one-on-one and having writing tools and notebooks on hand has allowed me to try new things. Our Social Emotional learning focus helps the students identify, understand, and handle emotions and having journals on hand for them to write in has been an excellent tool! We were so excited about receiving the materials.\r\nWe used the energy sticks to extend our unit on systems. We learned that our bodies can also be a part of a system. We all held hands and \"closed\" the circuit and the energy stick lit up and made sounds. The kids were thrilled. It was so much fun investigating how to make the energy stick light up in different ways.\r\n\r\nWe used the thermometer to make comparisons of how different textures and materials vary in temperatures. We couldn't believe how hot the heater was!! Our next step is to measure how much energy is used with different devices and compare there temperatures. We are working to find out if there is a connection to temperature and amount of energy used.\r\n\r\nWe love investigating and we can't wait to learn more everyday.
