In our Reader's Theater center, students work together to practice scripts and build fluency by reading their parts multiple times before performing for their classmates. One especially memorable moment was when a group of students became so excited about their script that they started adding expression and gestures while rehearsing—it felt like a mini stage performance right in the classroom. In another center, students rotate through timed reading passages where they track their words-per-minute and try to beat their previous scores, which has helped them see their progress in a very concrete way. The comprehension cards are used for quick practice on comprehension skills. \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were immediately curious and excited, especially about the Reader's Theater scripts. Many of them were thrilled by the idea of having a \"role\" to read, which made the activity feel more like a performance than a typical reading task. The timed passages also sparked a lot of friendly motivation as students tried to improve their fluency scores from one round to the next. As we continue using these resources, our next step is to deepen comprehension and confidence with reading aloud. These materials are helping students build stronger reading skills while also making literacy practice collaborative, engaging, and fun.","fullyFundedDate":1769263646098,"projectUrl":"project/building-fluency-comprehension-through/10023403/","projectTitle":"Building Fluency & Comprehension Through Independent Centers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Reich","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9602362"},{"teacherId":6665429,"projectId":9029083,"letterContent":"I wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of chapter books.
