They love the different lengths and colors and really enjoy the physical aspect of using the instruments. Students have been asking questions about what would happen if we hit two boomwhackers together which has prompted exciting conversations about harmony and pitch.\r\n\r\nUsing the boomwhackers, my students have been able to engage in melodic composition activities, which can be very difficult to do with this particular age group and student population. We have also been having a lot of fun playing along with boomwhacker YouTube videos which are providing students with a valuable opportunity to develop beginning music literacy and ensemble performance skills.
