My students were immediately excited when they received them and often comment on how comfortable they are to wear. They were especially intrigued by the variety of colors, which made the experience feel personal and fun for them. Having their own headphones has helped students stay focused and engaged during independent learning time because they can listen without distractions and fully concentrate on their tasks.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have also supported our literacy programs in a powerful way. Students regularly use them while working on digital learning platforms such as iReady, Lexia, and Kids A-Z. With the ability to clearly hear directions, stories, and reading supports, students feel more confident completing their lessons independently. Many students have become more motivated to listen to audiobooks and explore a wider range of genres, which has encouraged them to read more frequently.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the headphones have helped create a more supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. Some students benefit from hearing text read aloud while following along, which strengthens their comprehension and vocabulary development. The headphones allow students to work at their own pace while receiving the auditory support they need to succeed. As a result, students feel more independent, engaged, and eager to participate in reading activities throughout the day.","fullyFundedDate":1768227511748,"projectUrl":"project/voices-of-learning-helping-enl-students/9831182/","projectTitle":"Voices of Learning: Helping ENL Students Find Their Voice","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5103170_orig.jpg?crop=600,600,x0,y28&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760478062502","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5103170"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_297","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":508,"numTeachers":60,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":21,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":5,"percentLatinx":58,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"8.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.1,"schoolId":297,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 119 Dr Emmett W Bassett School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 119 Dr Emmett W Bassett School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-119/297"}
