One especially meaningful moment was watching a group of first graders work together to decode words during a phonics game, students who are usually hesitant to read aloud were suddenly confident, cheering each other on as they advanced through the game. The hands-on, playful nature of the materials has helped reinforce phonics skills, sight word recognition, and comprehension in a way that feels joyful rather than intimidating.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and contagious. The bright visuals and interactive components instantly captured their attention, and they were eager to explore. Even students who typically struggle with focus were fully engaged, carefully following directions and taking turns. It was clear right away that these resources made learning feel special and motivating.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, the next steps for my students involve using these literacy games to deepen their reading skills as we move into more complex phonics patterns and early comprehension strategies. We are beginning a unit focused on reading fluency and storytelling, and the games will support students as they practice blending sounds, building sentences, and retelling stories with confidence. Your generosity has truly expanded what's possible in our classroom, and it continues to support meaningful, joyful learning every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1760356796657,"projectUrl":"project/first-literacy/9821714/","projectTitle":"First Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gibason","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8431500"},{"teacherId":7654734,"projectId":9829810,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of my classroom through DonorsChoose. Because of your kindness, I was able to add over 20 new books to our classroom library, giving my students more engaging and diverse reading options. I also received headphones for students who need additional support with audiobooks. These headphones will not only help students access content more independently, but will also support the development of important speaking and listening skills.\r\n\r\nIn addition, your donation made it possible for me to purchase dry-erase boards that we use daily for lessons, quick checks for understanding, spelling practice, and review activities. I also received fidget bands, which have already been a huge help for students who need to expend extra energy while staying focused and seated.
