With our extended class periods, keeping student’s attention can be difficult no matter how engaging the lesson. I purchased a wobble stool last year and many students all wanted that one stool. I had to get very creative on how I allowed students to share it. I would like the opportunity to be able to offer my students multiple alternative seating options to meet the various needs within my classroom so that more than just one student can benefit on any given day. I have found that those students who used the stool were able to stay focused longer and were out of their seat less often. This lends to more time spent learning! I have also found that when students are more comfortable, they tend to be more focused and on task. This is where the bean bags, end table and laptop table come in handy.
