Yet many want to play and be part of the band. The joy having a newer instrument can bring to these students' faces when presented with a new instrument they get to use is the best. I asked one of my 9th graders if he would like to use his old school one from last year, or play on a new one for the Memorial Day Services coming up. He couldn't believe that 1) someone bought some new saxophones for the band, and that 2) HE gets to play one of them! The care he is taking with this new instrument is fun to see as he takes extreme measures to make sure it stays pretty looking and sounding good. I enjoyed being able to see all my 5th graders play on real instruments for the spring concert thanks to donors like you. These books cover a variety of musical topics (rhythms, composers, games, and more) that I can easily make photocopies of for my various classes. The rhythm books will help me teach solid rhythmic patterns to make my students better musicians. The composer books will help me teach about several composers, also making nice worksheets for days I am absent or when we have virtual days. One book I really enjoyed looking through is a book of music games that I can see my 5-7th grade students really getting into and learning in the process. Once they know some of these games, the substitute can also use them as the students can teach them how to play. Thank you for these resources. For this one, it was truly an immediate impact. This brand new bell set came exactly 2 hours before our Spring Concert. Could we have done the concert with our old set? Yes. But did we? No! One of my two students who play the bell set the most was here when it arrived, so we did an unboxing. Her smile! The pictures did not do justice to her excitement. Needless to say, we put the new bell set on a rolling desk, brought it down to the gym for our concert and put it to immediate use. When my 6th grader saw it at the concert, he just looked at me in amazement. Yes. You make a difference. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
