They are learning at their own pace and not distracting other students around them, as well as having a decreased likelihood of them being distracted by the other activities in the classroom. They are able to focus on what they are doing.\r\nWhat excites the students most about the headphones is the microphone feature. They love to read and record themselves to hear what they sound like, and to practice their fluency. This year we began using an application that transforms their writing assignment into e-books. With the microphone feature on the headphones they can read the text they wrote and record it as an e-book. The application also has a speech-to-text feature which gives equal access to the technology, no matter the student's skill level.\r\nYour contribution to the classroom this year has been well received and most useful. It helped these students and will continue to help additional students in the future.","fullyFundedDate":1741385842069,"projectUrl":"project/can-you-hear-me-now/9110728/","projectTitle":"Can You Hear Me Now?","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. L. One student even said, \"Now I can write without my pencil breaking every two seconds!\"\r\n\r\nAs we continue our novel study, students will use these materials for written responses, discussions, and a character analysis project tracking Opal's growth. Your support has made a tremendous difference, and I am so grateful.\r\n\r\nWhen my 5th and 6th-grade diverse learners first saw the new materials, their excitement was contagious. Their faces lit up with curiosity, and they couldn't wait to dive in! One of the most memorable moments was when we used the new hands-on math manipulatives during a recent lesson on fractions. Students who previously struggled with abstract concepts were able to grasp the material more confidently by physically engaging with the tools.
