They crowded around new materials, wanted to look through the books, asked questions, and immediately started talking about what they could do with everything.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was when our mini skeleton arrived. The students gathered around the table, named him Jimmy Bob, and were completely fascinated by him. They wanted to touch it, look at it, ask questions, and learn. It turned a lesson into something they could actually experience.\r\n\r\nThe books have had a similar effect. Students have found things that interest them, discovered topics they didn't know about, and started talking about what they want to read next. The posters and other materials have also become part of our classroom in a way that feels meaningful to them. They aren't just things hanging on the walls—they are things they use and remember.\r\n\r\nRecently, I asked my students what they need in order to feel good at school. They wrote words like safe, respected, kind, happy, calm, included, understood, proud, joyful, and excited. Reading their answers made me realize that what you have given us is about much more than classroom supplies.\r\n\r\nYou have helped me create a classroom where students can feel those things while they learn.\r\n\r\nSeveral students specifically mentioned feeling happy and excited because of the things you gave us. One student wrote that they wanted to \"read and learn all about what you gave us.\" Another said they wanted to keep the posters because they were part of their knowledge. They noticed that someone cared enough to give them something that made their classroom better.\r\n\r\nThat means a lot to me.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make our classroom a place where kids are curious, excited to learn, and proud of what they are discovering.","fullyFundedDate":1785296520403,"projectUrl":"project/holistic-learning/10394979/","projectTitle":"Holistic Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Follrath","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10558330_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1786903892161","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/weloveourpanthers"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_52983","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":199,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":71,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":8,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"11.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":62.8,"schoolId":52983,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pine Ridge School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pine Ridge School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/paradise-unified-school-district/pine-ridge-elementary-school/52983"}
