My students are a funny, close-knit group with big personalities and big hearts. They are sensitive to one another, willing to work hard, and eager to reflect, try again, and make positive changes. They are developing independence, confidence, and a strong sense of community. They adore our class service dog, Jake, and are excited to buddy with the special education students on campus. They love art, the outdoors, their families, and exploring new ideas. They are naturally curious about one another and about me as their teacher. I hope to build on their curiosity by creating a classroom where they can explore, create, collaborate, question, and take ownership of their learning. Donations will help provide books, hands-on materials, art and science resources, and opportunities to learn beyond a worksheet or textbook, while helping students discover new interests and believe in their own abilities.
