Your generosity may seem like a simple gift of laminating sheets, but it has a meaningful and lasting impact on my students and the way I am able to support their individual needs.\r\n\r\nEach year, I welcome a new group of three- to five-year-old students, and every group brings different strengths, interests, challenges, and learning needs. Because of this, I am constantly creating, adapting, and searching for new ways to help each child learn and grow. Laminating sheets allow me to turn these ideas into durable, hands-on learning materials that can withstand the daily use of an active preschool classroom.\r\n\r\nWith your donation, I can create individualized visual supports, communication tools, learning activities, behavior supports, games, task cards, and other resources designed specifically for my students. These materials help make learning more accessible and give my students opportunities to practice important skills in ways that are engaging and meaningful to them.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite parts of teaching special education preschool is getting to know each child and discovering what helps them learn best. Sometimes it takes trying something new, changing an activity, or creating a resource specifically for one student's needs to help them experience success. Your support gives me the ability to do just that.","fullyFundedDate":1779802883753,"projectUrl":"project/laminating-love-durable-learning-for-sp/10302400/","projectTitle":"Laminating Love: Durable Learning for Special Needs Preschoolers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reneski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6599747_orig.jpg?crop=271,271,x292,y30&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1582652893957","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6599747"},{"teacherId":6599747,"projectId":10192390,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom by providing a sandbox for my students! Your generosity has given my three- to five-year-old students a wonderful new way to learn, explore, play, and regulate their bodies in a safe and supportive environment.\r\n\r\nThe sandbox has quickly become a meaningful part of our classroom. For many of my students, especially those with sensory processing challenges, the texture and movement of sand provide calming sensory input that helps them feel more comfortable, organized, and ready to learn. Being able to scoop, pour, dig, and build gives students opportunities to explore at their own pace while engaging their senses in a purposeful way.\r\n\r\nThe sandbox has also created opportunities for my students to practice important developmental skills. As they play, they are strengthening their fine motor skills, developing hand-eye coordination, practicing problem-solving, and learning early concepts such as quantity, size, and cause and effect. Perhaps most importantly, the sandbox encourages communication and social interaction. Students are learning to share materials, take turns, work alongside their peers, and express their ideas through play.\r\n\r\nFor my students with autism and other developmental differences, having a flexible, low-pressure environment where they can explore and engage in play is incredibly valuable. The sandbox allows each child to participate in a way that feels comfortable and successful for them. Whether a student is quietly running their fingers through the sand, carefully filling a container, building a creation, or playing alongside a friend, every interaction becomes an opportunity to learn and grow.\r\n\r\nI deeply value the unique strengths, interests, and learning differences that each of my students brings to our classroom. Your donation has helped me create a space where those differences are welcomed and supported. You have given my students more than a sandbox—you have given them another place to discover, create, connect, and experience the joy of learning through play.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and believing that every child deserves opportunities to learn in ways that work best for them.
