My room hosted close to 10 students and we had two different games of Dungeons and Dragons going on at the the same time. The noise and energy were both at the top levels. Students were laughing, dice were rolling, and enemies were being smited.\r\n\r\nWe all had a great time, and played games well into the night. When the grumpy and old teacher finally ran out of steam everyone wanted to just keep playing. For some students it was their first time trying a roleplaying game, and they loved it. They are learning about precision in measurements and the tolerance of motors and machined parts.\r\n\r\nThe table top vice has already come in handy on multiple occasions. Not only are we using it, but our coaches and maintenance staff have put it to use as well. It is amazing how such a simple addition to the lab has made such a great addition. These trips were the capstone to a whole unit in Biology on local ecology, human impact, and how to recommend changes to a system to make improvements. \r\n My students absolutely loved getting in the creek on a school day and seeing all kinds of macro-invertebrates and other critters that live in the stream that runs right through the city park here in town. Many of them were very surprised as the diversity of life our little stream contains, and they made some surprising conclusions about the over all health of the stream based on their findings.\r\n The cameras allowed the students to not only document their work, but they also made it possible for these teenagers to share their experience with the board of education, parents, and other vested members of the community.
