They thought the black and white border around the frames looked cool. During these sessions, students relax and listen as I read the stories aloud. Although they may not be able to read the texts on their own, they are highly engaged listeners. I frequently pause to ask questions about what is happening in the story or to encourage them to make predictions about what might come next, which deepens their comprehension and involvement.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, I can see how much my students are enjoying these books. We use them to discuss real-life social situations—whether potential or past experiences—and the stories provide meaningful opportunities for connection. Having a wide variety of paint to draw from has been extremely useful. Our program operates on a limited budget so the extra help with materials are making a big impact on the quality of our performance.
