When the materials arrived, their eyes lit up with curiosity and joy—they couldn't wait to get started. We began by learning how food scraps and organic waste can be repurposed, and the students were amazed to see how what we often throw away can actually give life to something new. This hands-on experience has already sparked meaningful conversations about responsibility, science, and the environment.\r\n\r\nThe impact has been incredible: my students are now actively involved in collecting, sorting, and composting materials to create healthy soil for our classroom garden. They love working as a team, checking on their compost progress, and brainstorming what we can grow together. These moments of discovery and collaboration have been so powerful in building not only their scientific knowledge but also their sense of community and ownership over their learning.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my students are eager to expand the garden, track plant growth, and use their journals to document the process. They are beginning to see themselves as \"green thinkers\" who can make real changes in their own homes and community. None of this would be possible without your generosity, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunities you've given them to learn in such a meaningful and lasting way.","fullyFundedDate":1756416454456,"projectUrl":"project/from-garbage-to-gardens-growing-green/9351743/","projectTitle":"From Garbage to Gardens: Growing Green Thinkers!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hand","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8367524_orig.jpg?crop=2002,2002,x120,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747281316329","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8367524"},{"teacherId":8367524,"projectId":9264053,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom project, Sorting Success: Organization That Sparks Learning! The new organizational resources have truly transformed our learning environment. My students were so excited when they first saw the materials—many of them immediately began helping to set things up and were eager to use them. The bins, organizers, and supplies have made it so much easier for them to find what they need quickly and stay focused on learning.\r\n\r\nAlready, I've seen a difference in the way my students work together. Materials are accessible, our classroom feels calmer, and students take more responsibility for keeping things neat and ready for the next activity. One special moment came when a student who often struggles with transitions told me, \"It's easier now because I know exactly where to go.\" That sense of independence and confidence is exactly what I hoped for when requesting these resources.\r\n\r\nWith our classroom now more organized, we're ready to dive deeper into group projects, hands-on activities, and independent work without the stress of wasted time searching for supplies. Your kindness has created a smoother, more positive learning environment that helps my students focus on what matters most—growing and learning together.","fullyFundedDate":1746786300692,"projectUrl":"project/sorting-success-organization-that-spark/9264053/","projectTitle":"Sorting Success: Organization That Sparks Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hand","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8367524_orig.jpg?crop=2002,2002,x120,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747281316329","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8367524"},{"teacherId":8367524,"projectId":9067479,"letterContent":"Thanks to your incredible generosity, our PBIS Student Store is now fully stocked and ready to inspire positive behavior in our school! The moment my students saw the shelves filled with exciting new choices, their faces lit up with pure joy. They couldn't wait to start earning points toward these rewards, and the conversations about making positive choices began almost immediately.\r\n\r\nAlready, I've noticed students encouraging each other to stay on task, follow expectations, and show kindness—all because they are motivated by the opportunity to \"shop\" at the store. One student even shared that saving up his points for a bigger item made him feel proud of his patience and hard work. These resources are not just prizes—they are tools that are building responsibility, motivation, and a stronger classroom community.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for us are continuing to reinforce positive behavior through our PBIS system and helping students set goals for how they'll earn and spend their points. With your help, we've turned the idea of motivation into something tangible and exciting for kids, and we are so thankful. Must-Have Books To Make Kids Happy. Your generosity brought joyful, engaging, and meaningful books into our classroom, and they've made a lasting impact on my students. As a new teacher building my classroom library from scratch, your support helped me offer stories that not only entertain but also build essential reading skills like fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary development. These texts have sparked rich discussions around characters, themes, and life lessons that students can relate to and learn from.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom has become a time of excitement and calm. Whether students are choosing books from the class library during independent reading or sharing their favorite parts during buddy reading, the love of books is growing every day. One student who was hesitant to read at the beginning of the year now begs for extra time with a favorite book from this collection—it's been incredible to watch that transformation. Another student said, \"This book makes me feel like the author understands me,\" which truly shows how powerful the right books can be.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our classroom and helping to build a space where reading is celebrated and cherished. One of our favorite uses has been for partner games where students solve problems together, check each other's work, and explain their thinking—all on their boards!\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were beyond excited. They couldn't wait to use the new markers and show off their work. One student even said, \"This makes learning feel more fun!\" The ability to erase and try again has helped students feel more confident and willing to take academic risks. These boards have made learning more interactive and engaging, especially for my visual and hands-on learners.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be using the boards for a unit on writing complete sentences and editing. Students will write their sentence drafts on the boards, revise with a partner, and then transfer their polished work to paper.
