My students and I are having a wonderful time exploring our new sensory tables, and they have instantly become a fan favorite in the counseling room.\r\n\r\nAs a play therapy-based school counselor, these sensory tables are now a core part of my office. They significantly expand my ability to connect with students with a wide range of sensory needs. The impact has been immediate and profound:\r\n\r\n• Emotional Regulation: I am already seeing a noticeable difference in several students. Some stop by for just a few minutes each day to quietly run their hands through the sand to ground themselves.\r\n\r\n• Creative Mindfulness: Several students prefer to make intricate patterns to create their own mini zen gardens.\r\n\r\n• Imaginative Play: Others love to bury hidden gemstones to seek treasure, wage a large-scale superhero battle in the desert, or give the playhouse dolls a fun beach vacation in the sand.\r\n\r\n• Therapeutic Interventions: The large size of these tables allows us to utilize formal sand tray therapy interventions both individually and in group sessions.\r\n\r\nThe excitement started from day one—the students absolutely loved helping me open the boxes, assemble the tables, and test out the materials for the very first time.\r\n\r\nA special thank you to the Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation for matching the donations on this project. Your organization's incredible support made this dream possible even faster than we could have imagined. \r\n\r\nThank you all for investing in our students' emotional well-being and growth!","fullyFundedDate":1789652022268,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-exploration-sand-water-sens/10514796/","projectTitle":"Sensory Exploration: Sand, Water, & Sensory Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cueto","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10415285"},{"teacherId":10415285,"projectId":10049478,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity! The 2nd grade students and I had a blast planting our school garden this past spring. We got very, very wet making sure those plants were watered! Some students in particular exclaimed they had so much fun digging in the dirt! While I supervised, the students did all the work. And I am proud to report that most of the plants have flourished. The experience was wonderful, and they have something to show for their labor. We also learned some ways we are going to improve our efforts for next year, so we can prepare earlier.
