My previous tools were so loved and so it is wonderful to be able to not only refresh and replace some of the old tools, but to also gain some new tools, which allow us to express music through movement. \r\n\r\nWhen my classes saw the tools, even the students who are more resistant to move their bodies expressively, were eager to try them. You could see the engagement in their movement and in their eyes. Of course, as their teacher, I was able to watch for the form of the music, which is what I was assessing. Additionally, some of my older students in the building were able to incorporate some of the tools into an all school assembly--and I could see every age, from five to fourteen mesmerized with the movement and drawn into the music. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your contribution to music education. The speaker and microphones have already had a huge impact on our learning and on our community.\r\n\r\nI immediately was able to use the speaker to amplify my own voice as I give instruction, which helps my students learn well and hear the instruction clearly. The most exciting part was the speaker came just in time for two big end of the year events: our end of year school assembly which includes all 730 students, as well as our end of the year Kindergarten concert. Multiple students were able to use the microphones to add to the only other microphone we have in our gym. This allow more students to have their own voice hear clearly and audibly to the whole community. It also allowed my kindergarten students practice in my music room before we went and did our big practice in the gym, which helped set them up for success. I have done so many concerts in Kindergarten, and because of this technology it was my best and smoothest concert ever. I was able to involve more soloists and student readers because of this equipment!","fullyFundedDate":1746406967235,"projectUrl":"project/amplify-student-voices/9271637/","projectTitle":"Amplify Student Voices!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. U","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp369131_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1450224236660","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/misscarrie"},{"teacherId":369131,"projectId":9319299,"letterContent":"Thank you for your amazing support to put tools in the hands of my students--literally! These puppets have been able to spark joy and childlike wonder in even my oldest students. The impact will ripple for years to come.\r\n\r\n The first class of students that I showed the puppets to were fifth graders, who are mostly ten or eleven, so I was not sure how they would react. Would they be 'too cool' or appreciate them but not be super interested? The exact opposite happened. They were raising their hands with so much vigor to try them and when I just let them use them a little to try singing and talking, they were deep in the magic of the puppet. I even had a student who struggles to come to music ready to name a rooster puppet and had a face of wonder and delight as he made his rooster peck the ground to eat. Of course when I got \"Puff the Magic Dragon\" out for my second graders, they were memorized with him! \r\n\r\nThese students will be so ready to use the puppets more next year and for years to come!! These recorders have already inspired my students and will for years to come. \r\n\r\nEach 4th grade child in our district receives a soprano recorder to use and keep. Many of them are able to be very successful and become ready for a new challenge. The different size recorders have already inspired my students who have started their soprano recorder to look forward to trying a alto, tenor or bass recorder and some even want to try the so tiny and small sopranino! \r\n\r\nI am especially grateful for the adaptive recorders. We house the setting three cognitive delay program in our school and while some of them are able to have the fine motor skills to play their recorders, it is still a lot to think about when playing the instrument. Having the adaptive recorders allow some of my students to focus on their breath or tonguing while not having to be quite as precise with their finger hole coverings.\r\n\r\nThese recorders of course will be used this year, but they are able to be sanitized and used by students for many years!","fullyFundedDate":1736182117386,"projectUrl":"project/recorders-for-all-hands/8753922/","projectTitle":"Recorders For All Hands","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. U","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp369131_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1450224236660","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/misscarrie"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54588","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":718,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":34,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":17,"percentWhite":49,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":90.9,"schoolId":54588,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Parkview Center School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Parkview Center School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/minnesota/roseville-area-school-district-623/parkview-center-school/54588"}
