This school year I used each and everything that was purchased last summer. In my Spanish 1 and Heritage courses we used the notebooks to make learning interactive and hands-on. In my Spanish 3 classes we used the binders to instill routine and good organization habits into the course. The students were so excited to receive a binder, provided by you all, and to customize and make it their own! The snacks allowed students to focus and stay engaged at school. The day to day items (tissues, hand sanitizer, and pencils) helped my students have the tools they needed to feel comfortable and to stay present in class. \r\n\r\nI truly could not have had the school year that I had without your generous gifts. I was able to provide students with a classroom that was stocked with materials to help them learn and to feel comfortable and confident to do so. In our classroom, we do a ton of a reading in Spanish within each unit, and students learn literacy skills that they can use when reading in both English and Spanish. These books are an extra addition for students to improve their literacy skills. \r\nStarting in third trimester, we will start \"Leer por placer\" (reading for pleasure) and these books provide great options for students to do that. These books open up students to more Spanish language that they may not have seen in class yet, and will challenge them to use the literacy skills we work on. I have students who are already enjoying these books and working on their reading skills. \r\nAccess to and funding for adequate materials )especially something as specific as Spanish language books) is not always possible in public school education, so your donation helps to fight that inequity. The generosity you showed by funding this project is amazing. My classroom now has a whole bookshelf with supplies they may need. There are snacks, figets, and hygenic items. I put quite a few things on my list I knew they would use, but also added a few things I wasn't certain if a student would take. Boy, was I wrong! There are certain supplies that flew off the shelves! The deodorant, in particular, went very fast. In fact, students took it faster than the snacks! \r\n\r\nI am so grateful my students have a place they know is safe to come and get the supplies they need.
