Students are rarely tardy since they want first pick of the books.\r\n\r\nNormally, interrupting my class or writing on my board would be a hard no. But when it is because students are enjoying reading, I can't really get too mad. These books in Spanish have helped spark a joy of reading in my kids instead dread. In addition, they are now using basic sentences in English to talk and write about the books. It has been a great way to bring in vocabulary from the books as I ask them about a word in Spanish and we work together to make meaning of it for me in English. In turn, it becomes a word they try to use in class for individual points in our school PBIS system.","fullyFundedDate":1726673147684,"projectUrl":"project/reading-in-any-language-is-a-good-thing/8758519/","projectTitle":"Reading in Any Language is A Good Thing!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Clarke-Silveira","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp305298_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1668871651032","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dclarke-weidman"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_99045","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1786,"numTeachers":72,"percentFrplEligible":67,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":89,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"24.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":69.5,"schoolId":99045,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pacheco High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pacheco High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-banos-unified-school-district/pacheco-high-school/99045"}
