We learn how to be hands-on, develop our spatial skills, manage our emotions, and share with others. We also learn how to be in and respond well to the world. \r\n\r\nI am submitting photos that show these aspects of learning in action, and also the products of these explorations. You will see students thinking, building, sharing, working together, and being proud of their work. \r\n\r\nI have also included a field trip image of students looking at the sculptures of Carol Bove at the Guggenheim Museum (Please note I have added the \"apples\" to keep student identities private, as I do not have permission for everyone). We are fortunate to have museum resources that reinforce all the aspects I wanted to teach my students that you so graciously supported with supplies. \r\n\r\nThis year, I am working with middle school students at the Bronx School for Continuous Learners in special education, and we are currently creating projects inspired by Hispanic Heritage month. Students explored the symbolism and concentric lines of the artist Martín Ramírez, making their own symbolic drawings. We are further exploring symbolism and texture by making Wixáritari-inspired yarn paintings. \r\n\r\nI cannot thank you enough for contributing to my classroom. Both myself and my students have experienced a lot of joy through your contributions.","fullyFundedDate":1774629158988,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-form-movement-and-balance-in/10117051/","projectTitle":"Exploring Form, Movement, and Balance in Art Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Curtis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8696974_orig.png?crop=296,296,x0,y133&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1774278100671","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8696974"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_108715","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":11,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":73.6,"schoolId":108715,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about P469X at PS 277 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"P469X at PS 277","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/p469x-at-public-school-277/108715"}
