They were so excited when the big box arrived and even helped with the assembly. It was a fantastic learning experience as they took turns attaching pieces and using tools. The water table includes numerous connecting pieces and wheels, and my students have already spent countless hours designing various paths for the water to follow. They've also enjoyed getting creative with the window crayons, drawing all over the attached plexiglass, then spraying it off to create magical art again and again. The impact of these new resources has been tremendous. Our students eagerly use the obstacle course and balance beams to develop their motor skills and coordination. As a first year teacher, having resources beyond the curriculum has truly helped bring the learning into the hands of my Kindergarten students and opened their eyes to real-world implications of STEM. \r\n\r\nWe have been utilizing our new resources in many different ways, and I'd love to tell you about our favorite experience. In Science we learned about gravity and how it pushes everything down. As a fun activity to put our learning into practice, we created a marble run using pool noodles and marbles. We created a track for the marbles to go down through and saw what happened if the pool noodle was not slanted downward to allow gravity to push it down. Each student got to take a turn putting the marble down and their eyes lit up as it traveled down the track.\r\n\r\nI teach students of diverse backgrounds and many of them do not get enrichment opportunities so this allowed them to have real world experience with their learning and gave them a new insight into where education can take them.\r\n\r\nOur STEM activity reiterated gravity's influence on objects and allowed my Kindergarten students the joy of putting Science into real life.
