I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of classroom materials. My students and I are truly enjoying the items you've provided.\r\n\r\nAs the school year begins, I am meeting many new students, and their excitement when they see our extensive supply of fidget toys and jigsaw puzzles is delightful. These materials offer them a much-needed cool-down moment that can otherwise be lost during the day.\r\n\r\nThe organizing materials have also been fantastic, allowing students to quickly find what they need. Before, my jigsaw puzzle pieces often ended up on the floor, but now they can easily slide them into the organizers. It's fun to see them collect their favorite fidget toys and arrange them at their tables. Some walk around the room to find \"just the right one\". \r\n\r\nAdditionally, the bean bag chairs have been a wonderful addition. Being able to sit in a different chair provides them with a mental and physical break from their traditional classroom seating. Sometimes, they even take turns to ensure everyone can enjoy the comfort. \r\n\r\nI am so appreciative of all your gifts to us. You have brought joy into what might be a dreary day for a student needing a safe space, a time-out, or simply a nap. May you be blessed for being a blessing.\r\n\r\nWarm regards!","fullyFundedDate":1748869788469,"projectUrl":"project/intervention-inventions/9379744/","projectTitle":"Intervention Inventions","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pope","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10043956_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748970217624","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10043956"},{"teacherId":10046393,"projectId":9386215,"letterContent":"By providing a set of No Fear Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet books for my English 1 (grade 9) classes, donors gave 119 students access to a complex text in a more approachable format, increasing both confidence and engagement in reading Shakespeare. With the support of these texts, students were able to analyze each act through guided discussion, deepening their understanding of the play's themes, character development, language, and dramatic structure.\r\n\r\nStudents demonstrated their learning by writing concise summaries of each act that included central ideas and key details, making logical predictions supported by textual evidence, and engaging in collaborative discussions that strengthened their comprehension and critical thinking skills.\r\n\r\nTo support active participation, each student took on a specific role during discussions:\r\n•\tDiscussion Director – Developed open-ended questions to encourage critical thinking \r\n•\tIllustrator – Created visual representations of key moments or themes \r\n•\tPlot Profiler – Analyzed character motivation and development \r\n•\tLiterary Luminary – Selected and analyzed significant passages \r\n•\tVocabulary Enricher – Identified and explained important vocabulary in context \r\n•\tConnector – Made meaningful text-to-self, text-to-text, or text-to-world connections \r\n\r\nThese structured roles ensured that all students contributed and engaged with the text in diverse ways. As a result, students showed increased participation, stronger analytical skills, and greater confidence in discussing complex literature.\r\n\r\nAs a culminating activity, students will apply their learning by either writing an argumentative essay or participating in a Socratic Seminar, demonstrating their ability to think critically, support ideas with evidence, and communicate effectively.","fullyFundedDate":1748975223305,"projectUrl":"project/the-page-turners/9386215/","projectTitle":"The Page Turners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Breck","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10046393"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54156","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2032,"numTeachers":86,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":76,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"23.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":48.1,"schoolId":54156,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Organ Mountain High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Organ Mountain High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-mexico/las-cruces-public-schools/onate-high-school/54156"}
